In this engaging music-and-film class, students explore how sound brings stories to life on screen. Each week, we'll dive into a new concept—like how music shows emotion, how characters get their own musical themes, and how different genres create different moods. Students will experiment with instruments (boomwhackers, bucket drums, keyboards), create sound effects, score short animated clips, and even film and soundtrack their own silent movie. By the end of the session, students will participate in a fun showcase where they present a scene they’ve scored themselves. This class builds creativity, teamwork, and confidence while helping students understand the powerful role music plays in movies.
